A Visual Narrative is a story told primarily through the use of visual media. The story may be told using still photography, illustration, or video, and can be enhanced with graphics, music, voice and other audio.
During this hands-on workshop participants will create stories on subject matter with social and cultural value by choosing a genre of visual storytelling from interviews, awareness campaigns, viral videos, one take films, to poster design using photographs or illustrations.
- Learn about narrative structure; time, rhythm and continuity.
- Learn about the principles of cinematic compositions.
- Learn how to create visually striking and communicative posters, focusing on simplicity, layout, colors, typography and copywriting.
- You will receive technical assistance with digital filmmaking, digital video editing and and graphic design (Illustrator and Photoshop).
Full HD digital photo/video recording camera DSLR or equivalent.
Laptop PC or MAC preferable Mac.
Meet your Instructor
Juan Francisco Pardo attended Septima Ars Film and Television School in Madrid, Spain where he studied Film Direction and TV Production. He also studied Media Design at Sint Lucas in The Netherlands. He has 16 years experience with television and film production; Juan has worked with broadcasting companies such as ATV 15, and Omroep Brabant. As a freelance producer/director he has worked on several television projects, television commercials, short films and short documentaries. Juan has won 6 awards and his films has been to more than nine film festivals over the last few years.
The workshop fee AWG. 150,- can be paid via bank transfer or in cash at the first day of class, but you have to specify the type of payment during the registration process.
