TV Production 'How to Produce your own TV Show'
Outline of the program

1- AUDIOVISUAL LANGUAGE
Field sizes, camera angles and camera movement. Frame composition. Scene versus sequence. The 180 degree axis.

2- TV FORMATS
Content development for television formats: entertainment, reality TV, game show, comedy and drama. Scripted versus unscripted formats. Single-camera versus multi-camera and live versus recorded. The basis for a successful television show. Script writing techniques.

3- TV PPRODUCTION
Working from the script. Planning the budget, the rundown, the production schedule, the floor plan/camera positions, the location sketch and the call sheet.
Coordinating locations, sets, set dressing, permits, contracts, casting, production equipment and the production crew.
Methods of financing the production: advertising sales, product placement, government grants and in-kind contributions. Distribution and promotion.

4- THE PRODUCTION CREW 'NONTECHNICAL PERSONNEL'
The role of the producer, the director, the production manager, the field producer, the art director and the script supervisor.

Scriptwriting for Film & TV
Outline of the program

1- FILM LANGUAGE

2- FILM SCRIPT
Story versus plot. Script writing techniques: structure, character, format and development.

3- TV SCRIPT
Script for television shows: concept, content and rundown. Television drama series versus drama serials versus soap opera. The basis for a successful tv show. Script writing techniques.

Filmmaking
Outline of the program

1- THE FILM CREW
The role of the director, the production manager, the art director, the script supervisor and the boom operator.

2- THE THREE PHASES OF PRODUCTION
The process of Pre-production: the script, script breakdown, location scouting, permits, casting, contracts, planning the camera positions, shooting schedule, call sheet and the continuity sheet.
The process of Production: the sound, lighting and filming.
The process of Post-production: the editing and music.

3- FILM LANGUAGE

4- FILM SCRIPT
Story versus plot. Script writing techniques: structure, character, format and development.

5- SHORT FILMS
The student directs or perform the duties of the production manager, art director, script supervisor or boom operator in the short film directed by his/her classmates.
